Caleb Salgado, double bass

Caleb Salgado is an active double bassist and interpreter of contemporary music. As a soloist and collaborator he has performed in France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, and North America working with composers and conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Peter Eötvös, Helmut Lachenmann, Pierluigi Billone, Chaya Czernowin, George Benjamin, Reinbert de Leeuw, et al.

He performs regularly with Ensemble Intercontemporain (Paris), Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop (Berlin), the Lucerne Festival Academy, manufaktur für aktuelle Musik, Ensemble Garage (Köln), soundinitiative (Paris), Asko|Schönberg (Amsterdam), Netherlands Philharmonic, among others. Festival appearances include Donaueschingen Musiktage, musica viva, Acht Brücken Festival, MITO, the Darmstadt Ferienkurse, the IMPULS Festival in Graz, the Zeitfenster Festival, the Rainy Days Festival in Luxembourg, and the Lucerne Festival.

He studied with include Gary Karr, Robert Black (Bang On A Can), Matthew McDonald (Berliner Philharmoniker) and Frédéric Stochl (eic/CNSMP). He is currently a student at the Ecole normale supérieure in Paris.
