Paolo Vignaroli, flute

Awarded at the Nicati contemporary music competition in Bern in 2009, Paolo Vignaroli has performed as a soloist at some of the most important contemporary music festivals in Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland (Lucerne Festival, IRCAM, Festival MusikPodium Zurich, Musikfestival Bern, Festival Nuovi Spazi Musicali, OggiMusica Lugano, Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik, Ars Musica, Flagey, Davos Festival Young Artists in Concert, Biennale di Venezia, Pépinières Européennes pour Jeunes Artistes, Festival Etchings, SMC de Lausanne).

As an engaged new music performer he worked closely with composer such as Philippe Hurel, Kaija Saarhiao, Michaël Levinas, Jean-Luc Hervé, Oscar Bianchi, Georg Friederich Haas.

Oscar Bianchi’s CD release, including his performance of Oscar Bianchi’s bass flute piece Gr… , has recently awarded of the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.

He performed as a soloist with l’Ensemble Acouphène (Paris), l’Ensemble Vortex (Genève), Ensemble Risognanze (Milan), l’Ensemble Ecce (Boston), l’Ensemble Tzara (Zurich), Le Balcon (Paris), l’Orchestra Sinfonica di Grosseto.

After graduating at the Conservatory of Siena, he attended the Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Lugano Musik Hochschule (Switzerland) in the class of Mario Ancillotti and continued his studies in Paris, where he obtained a postgraduate Diploma at Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Boulogne-Billancourt in the class of Céline Nessi and Pierre Dumail. He also attended masterclasses with Davide Formisano, Mario Caroli, Eva Furrer, Bartold Kujiken.

Based in Paris since 2007, he is very active as a chamber musician and he’s founding member of Ensemble soundinitiative.
