soundinitiative is embarking on a tour to Singapore, New Zealand and Australia supported by the Institut Français, SPEDIDAM and the Fond d'Amitié France Nouvelle Zélande. The group is taking on tour two programs, a long-form cycle by Austrian composer Bernhard Long 'The Exhausted' co-commissioned by the Bendigo International Festival for Exploratory Music and a program of French music including works by Grisey, Pesson, Leroux, Iannotta, Cendo & Bertrand entitled 'Made in France'.
As well as performances in Wellington, Bendigo, Brisbane and Singapore, the group will be ensemble in residence at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory (Singapore), Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Singapore), Raffles Institution (Singapore), the New Zealand School of Music (Wellington), the University of Melbourne Conservatorium (Melbourne) and Monash University (Melbourne).
Residency, Raffles Institution (Singapore)
Musicians from soundinitiative will work with students from Raffles Institution as part of the pedagogy project 'Is it this?' launch in 2014 in Picardie, France. The project involves the creation of new works by the students, and a performance by both the students and members of the ensemble at the end of the project.
