Winnie Huang, violin/viola
Winnie Huang is a Chinese-Australian violinist and violist currently based in Strasbourg, France. An active performer of new music, Winnie is a founding member and violinist of Paris based new music ensemble soundinitiative. She has performed with and continuously works with European ensembles such as Ensemble Linea, Lucilin Ensemble, Fantasia ensemble, Ensemble de L’Ill, MAM, and Australian ensemble Argonaut Ensemble.
Winnie plays regularly as a soloist, ensemble player and orchestral violinist. She works with young and established composers from around the world and collaborates with or premiers works by Bernhard Lang, Raphael Cendo, Alberto Posadas, Alexander Schubert, Mauro Lanza, Santiago Diez-Fischer, Peter Ablinger, Joanna Bailie, Mauricio Pauly, Chris Swithinbank, Jessie Marino, François Rossé and Georges Aperghis in performances at festivals such as Musica (France), Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik (Austria), Lucerne Festival and Lucerne Easter Festival (Switzerland), Klang Festival (Denmark), BIFEM (Australia), Brisbane Festival (Australia), Ars Musica (Belgium), Festival Sons d'Automne (France), Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt (Germany), Festival of Slow Music (Australia), Rendez-vous Contemporains (France) among others.
